Official working days are from Sunday till Thursday, with two days weekend on Friday and Saturday
Business hours are from 8:00 to 15:00
Most of shops are open till 22:00. Some shops close on Friday, excepts malls

Entry and Visa Requirements

Most nationalities can obtain an entry visa upon arrival at the airport. Please contact your local Jordanian Embassy or Consulate for information on visa and entry requirements to Jordan. For a list of Jordan Diplomatic Missions worldwide, please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: www.mfa.gov.jo.

If you have difficulties in obtaining your visa, please tick (I need help) in the registration form, and send copies of your passport.

Climate and Clothing

Jordan is blessed with a moderate Mediterranean climate.
In May the weather is relatively warm, and expected temperatures at the time of the conference: in Aqaba around (36° C) High / (24 C) Low, (96.8 F) High/ (75.2 F) Low, and (28°C) High / (22°C) low, (82.4F) High/ (71.6 F) Low at Amman.

Currency and Credit Cards

The Jordanian currency is the Jordanian Dinar, or JD. It is subdivided into 1000 fils, or 100 piasters. Exchange rate is approximately USD 1 = JD 0.71. Credit cards are accepted at most large hotels, restaurants, and most stores. American Express, Visa, and Master Card are the most commonly used cards

Electrical Current

Jordan’s electricity supply is 220 volts / 50 cycles AC. Most hotels can accommodate 110 volts. Sockets are generally of the two-pronged European variety. Most varieties of adaptors and transformers are available in electrical shops.
